    Evelyn Gordon will be presenting, "Help for the Helpers: The Importance of Stress Management for Human Resources Professionals." Description: With all that has happened in 2020, many people are experiencing high levels of stress and anxiety. Human Resources professionals have faced unique professional challenges on top of the personal challenges that so many are currently facing. This session will provide some tips and resources to empower “Helpers” to better manage their stressors and provide some support so they can continue doing their work while avoiding burnout. In this session, attendees will learn: - The various types of fatigue that HR professionals may be experiencing - The impact of stress and anxiety on health and productivity - Recommendations for improving coping skills, resiliency, and stress reduction - Free resources available to help with these concerns.

    Evelyn M. Gordon (She/Her) is an HR professional with 15 years of experience in Higher Education. She holds a Master of Education from Central State University in Wilberforce, OH, and certifications from HRCI and SHRM (PHR/SHRM-CP). Her areas of specialty include strategic planning, employee relations, leadership coaching, and employee recognition. She is a proud member of the Eastern Indiana Human Resources Association, where she currently serves as the Certification Director, and looks forward to her new role in 2021 as the EIHRA President-Elect. Evelyn is married with an 8-year old daughter, and is a jazz musician, sewist, and more recently, wedding officiant who enjoys lowbrow comedy, sci-fi, and ghosty horror movies.
